In all honesty, the view is spectacular, but the food, not so much.With its close proximity to the Acropolis and a great view down the side of the Parthenon, this truly is a remarkable view, as long as you stay seated. It is much different from the other viewpoints mentioned so far, since you get to see the Acropolis with the city of Athens in the foreground.There are two levels to the restaurant. Many of these venues also have excellent rooftop bars and restaurants. The Metropolis Hotel is a great option.The rooms have some of the best views of the Acropolis and the city even when compared to the big luxury hotels in town. Could do with dimming the lights in the evening so you can see the glorious view. It is such a fascinating country.These pictures just make me want to go to Greece. We stayed in an Executive room with an Acropolis view. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation sounds interesting, I’m sad we missed it. The edge of the terrace sits several meters back from edge of the building, so it can be difficult to get a photo of the Acropolis and Monastiraki Square without part of the building in the bottom of your photo.By the way, the food is good and the drinks are even better. As for the view, I loved the scenic rooftop bar restaurant which also holds a happy hour every day.If you are looking for clean, basic rooms with an amazing view – and centrally located? Do keep in mind that only SOME of the rooms of each hotel overlook the Acropolis. The glass panels can be lowered so you can take photos without a glare (depending on the weather conditions).The second level is a rooftop bar and it is a lot more open.
