It’s anyone’s guess what will happen next, as the rumor mill seems to be suggesying that Filoni is trying to push his OCs into Favreau’s show, even though there’s not really ant way yo reconcile the Mandalorian culture seen in the CGI cartoon with the one seen in the live-action series.I seriously doubt the wiki always read that way given how moderators lately seem to be biased to the progressive side now in wikis, and the story group is the story group. Favreau’s “The Mandalorian” then went and retconned this *again,* replacing Filoni’s urbanized, city-dwelling Mandos with nomadic, ritualized hunters based closely on Karen Traviss’s stories. Tatooine just happens to be one of the rumored “outer reaches of the galaxy” locations for the new series. There also seems to be a bit of a design change from the Satine (triangular face/head, flat surfaces) to the Sabine era (angled eyes), but either way, there is an ethnic look to Mandalorians which stands out (in the animations) and Jengo actor having pronounced Maori traits despite some european blood.Seems a bit odd they’d go this route rather than casting a south asian actor. No…not the dialogue. Only time will tell.I would be fine with Chuck playing his own creation.I was afraid of this happening if Boba Fett was to make an appearance in ‘The Mandalorian’-looks like it’ll more than likely not be the ‘real’ Boba Fett, but that Zanith character walking around in Fett’s armor.Looks like us Boba Fett fans just can’t catch a break-instead of getting Boba Fett returning and re-entering the bounty hunter scene, having escaped the Sarlacc-we get 25% different Boba Fett and an imposter Boba Fett.Although I doubt Favreau would do this, but it would be cool to see them adapt some of the ‘Twin Engines of Destruction’ storyline, where Boba Fett lays the smack down on an imposter (Jodo Cast) or in this case Zanith, who has been claiming bounties under his name-but that would involve a OT era SW character one-upping a Di$ney era SW character, which would in all likelihood never happen.Maybe, BUT Timothy Olyphant is male, into women and WHITE. I made it up as a towel snap at Porg Boy, but the character exists and that’s the name of it.Mandalorian society is based on a wide mixture of different cultural influences from around the world (their language is primarily derived from Hungarian, for example), and the first Mandalorians ever shown unmasked, way back in Marvel Star Wars #68 in 1982, were fair-haired, blue-eyed, ethnically Scots-Irish types (something that was carried through with the uniformly “Aryan” look of the Mandalorian population in the CGI Clone Wars cartoon and in the casting of Scottish and Irish actors Kevin McKidd and Ray Stevenson in the follow-up Rebels series). Is there any accounting for all the clones having black hair and brown skin?Yes- they’re all clones of Jango Fett. To reconcile this discrepancy, later authors explained that Mandalorian culture had been originated by the grey aliens (Taung) and then, as their numbers dwindled due to constant warfare, other species would be adopted into the culture as well, including Humans, Togorians, Gektl, Mandallians and so forth (most Mandalorian characters of note are human, however, and it’s acknowledged that they make up the largest part of the Mandalorian people, being generally the closest in spirit and habit to the ancient, now seemingly extinct Taung race.As for selecting a white actor to play another character in Mandalorian armour, I’m kind of torn on that. (and i won’t) But if there is Mandalore content in them, what kind of diversity or even design aesthetic did they go with?Well, to start with, the idea that Mandalorians are more of an ideology than a race is a complicated but genuinely organic product of the old EU.
