The best thing they can do for him right now is to take the punch nerf off and leave the shields to see how it goes from there. Unless your opponent is super low when you pull them close, players will always want to chain this move into Rising Uppercut or Rocket Punch.

:(Ikr, i mainly play him in deathmatch and this shit happens all the timeHa I was on high ground and saw the doomfist trying to sneak behind me, so I was careful to line myself up so that if he punched me, I would fall off to the low ground instead of getting splattered on a wall. I never get killed by a character and think, "That was fun." It's gonna mess up his feel. So it increases the risk a huge amount. I've had a few games where my team has been ravaged by a good Doomfist and we weren't really sure what to do about him besides just watch for him and try to keep him from wrecking our back line.Defensive sombra. There’s also no shame in diving in on an enemy team, hitting their least mobile target, and then getting out. He rocketpunched into position, and did his combo on me. I will say though, messing with his mobility is annoying. The only thing he worries when using rocket punch is to land it and thats dumb.If he had to evaluate the situation if he actually can hit the wall that would be nice.As someone who gets wrecked by DF a lot I agree. Her name is Widowmaker, who can kill with zero telegraphing from anywhere on the map, but nobody complains about her much anymore because you can just hide behind blue safety walls all day. As soon as any other dps gets the chance to be meta, it is the worst thing ever.Honestly doomfist is just really annoying to play against and I play him. In practice, Doomfist feels nothing like playing demoknight and more like using some 1 shot charge up cannon. The amount of extra health he could acquire from diving the back line made it pretty difficult to kill him before he escaped.seems like a good change for people who don't play doomfistEh I feel like the shield nerf was enough but will see how this shakes out.
