After his death, a national appeal failed to raise sufficient money for this memorial. The first part of this grand hall was built sometime after 1576 by the Charnock family, when their original home in nearby Charnock Richard burnt down. Astley Hall (listed grade I) dates from the C16. Within the grounds you will find acres of stunning parkland, the breath-taking Grade I historic house, the modernised Coach House which includes Café Ambio, the scenic Walled Garden, an exciting Pets Corner and an array of sports pitches and play areas.
A lovely hall dating back to King Charles 11, well maintained, excellent gardens with an adjacent cafe, great historical value, guided tours available, well worth a visit I have visited Astley Park over many years, as a child, with my children and now with my Grandchildren when I visit the UK.
